Electric Fire Hazard!

What I see: This picture, provided by Carlos Seidl, a trusted Home Inspector, shows the wiring inside the electrical panel uncovered and documented during a 4-point inspection. The white wire appears to be charred, could be due to overload (excessive consumption) of the device connected to it. This is an electrical hazard that must be corrected.

What can happen: If this issue is not corrected, the cable or breaker could catch fire in the panel, leading to much more damage and therefore much more expensive repairs.

What to do: Your home must be inspected periodically. Once found, a licensed electrician should make the correction.
