April 5, 2024 (Jupiter, Fla.) The Maltz Jupiter Theatre proudly announces the upcoming grand opening of its latest venture, The Island Theatre. This $5 million state-of-the-art 198-seat "black box" style theatre, located adjacent to the MainStage, marks a significant milestone in the Theatre's commitment to delivering exceptional productions and transformative educational experiences. Opening in October 2024, The Island Theatre promises to revolutionize the cultural landscape of Jupiter.

"We are thrilled to introduce The Island Theatre as a groundbreaking addition to the Maltz Jupiter Theatre family," said Andrew Kato, Producing Artistic Director/Chief Executive. "This innovative space not only enhances our capacity for creative storytelling but also strengthens our connection with the community. We tend to produce populist titles on our MainStage, so this second space is meant to diversify programmatic offerings to include productions that we normally would not do.  We look forward to welcoming audiences to experience the magic of live theatre in this dynamic and intimate setting."

As Florida's largest award-winning regional theatre, the Maltz Jupiter Theatre has been a hub of creativity, drawing over 100,000 patrons annually and nurturing a vibrant subscription base of more than 7,200 enthusiasts. With the inauguration of The Island Theatre, this not-for-profit institution opens doors to more diverse programming opportunities and heightened audience engagement.

Named in honor of generous contributors, including an anonymous donor from Jupiter Island, The Island Theatre features a two-story layout with 198 comfortable theatre seats and cutting-edge technical infrastructure. Its flexible design allows for various performance configurations, from intimate concerts and thought-provoking plays to vibrant cabarets to future museum exhibitions and movie screenings.
Unlike the MainStage, The Island Theatre operates independently with its own show schedules, ensuring a seamless flow of artistic expression. Tickets for the general public go on sale on April 22, with early access for 2024/25 Season subscribers starting on April 15.
